At OCR, providing our customers and web site visitors with useful information without infringing on privacy is of the utmost importance. OCR safeguards the security of the data you send us with physical, electronic and management procedures.

The following policies are in effect for the web pages and online services operated by OCR Canada Ltd (hereafter referred to as OCR).

OCR is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of its customers and web site visitors. That is why we want you to understand the actions we take to protect your privacy and to ensure data security when we collect and use information about you. Because your privacy is important, OCR will not disclose, sell, rent, trade or share your personal information except as outlined in this Privacy Statement. Where OCR engages third parties or uses subsidiaries to perform services on our behalf, we will require them to observe the intent of this Privacy Statement and Anti-Spam Policy.

What information does OCR collect and how will it be used?

OCR may collect the following types of personal information when you interact with us online or complete an online form: name, job title, company name, department, e-mail address, physical mailing address, telephone number.

This information is only used to respond to your requests for information on products and services offered by OCR or to provide you with after-sales service. OCR will not share this information with other organizations unless the information that you have requested requires us to do so. We will not use your contact details to forward to you information that was not requested by you.

In addition, OCR also collects non-personal information about your computer hardware and software. This information may include: your IP address, browser type, operating system, domain name, access times and referring web site addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of our web sites. OCR also collects non-personal information about which pages our customers visit within our web sites. Our web servers do not record e-mail addresses or other personal information unless it is willingly provided by the individual when filling out a web form. OCR will not share your information with other organizations without your prior approval.

OCR may forward your Contact Information and Professional Data to a distributor in your region so that products and services can be offered.

OCR’s web sites contain hyperlinks to other web sites. OCR is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such web sites, or how they treat information about their users. OCR does not share any of your individual personal information with the web sites to which OCR links, except as stated elsewhere within this Privacy Statement. Please check with the hyperlinked sites to determine their privacy policies.

From time to time, OCR may be required to provide personally identifiable information in response to a court order, subpoena, or government investigation. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful. OCR may release personally identifiable information when we believe that such release is reasonably necessary to enforce or apply our terms and conditions or to protect the rights, property and safety of others and ourselves.

Anti-Spam Policy

OCR maintains a strict no-spam policy. If you receive unsolicited email from OCR, our affiliated worldwide offices or our distributors, please notify us at info@ocr.ca. Include the offending email with all the headers intact.

Please be aware that it is not uncommon for spammers to hide behind someone else's email account, as well as use mail servers that they do not own.

Changes to this Statement

OCR will occasionally update this Privacy Statement and Anti-Spam Policy. When we do, we will also revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this Statement to ensure that you are viewing the most current version. For material changes to this statement, OCR will notify you by placing prominent notice on our web sites.

Your Consent to this Agreement

By using any of OCR’s web sites, you consent to the collection and use of information by OCR as specified above. Your information may be stored and processed in Canada or any other country in which OCR or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or distributors maintain facilities, and by using this site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country. OCR abides by the Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of data from the European Union.
