The iX104R is a rugged Tablet PC that was built to military specifications and designed to operate in any environment. The ergonomic iX104R features a rugged magnesium chassis and a patented industrial removable bumper protection system. It has an IP54 Rating and can handle the daily exposures of high and low ambient temperatures, drops and shocks and vibration associated with use in fork lifts, trucks and police cruisers, to name a few. The iX104R is a PC in a mobile flexible form factor that can be used in the office or out in the field. It is ideally suited for users in a variety of industries and applications such as: Pubic Safety, EMS, Fire Safety, Utility, Field Service, Field Sales, Health Care, Warehousing, Transportation, Government / Military, and Manufacturing.
The iX104R has a Pentium III, 866Mhz processor, a 40GB hard disk drive and a large 10.4" XGA TFT enhanced display. It now comes standard with 512MB of RAM memory. It has multiple wireless radio bays that accommodate both Wireless LAN (802.11b) and Wireless WAN radios simultaneously integrated into the system.
The iX104R also features programmable hot keys and an on-board backlit keypad. Three optional flexible docking solutions are available – choose the X-Dock for mobile computing needs, the X-Stand docking solution for use in an office or configuration center environment or the Industrial Desk Mount with Port Replicator which provides a cradle for the tablet in a non-office environment.
There is also an ambient light sensor built into the computer which automatically brightens and dims the display screen based on the available light. This is a wonderful battery-saving feature.
