open standard for wireless local area networking, the
Spectrum24 High Rate (HR) LA 41X3 is a wireless network
interface card for PC and PC-compatible devices with a
PCI interface. The LA 41X3 plugs into desktop computers
and cash registers, providing high-throughput,
Ethernet-speed connectivity to vital network resources
including price and promotional files for retailers, and
office applications including e-mail and
intranet/Internet access. Its direct sequence spread
spectrum transmission technology is ideal for supporting
high-throughput applications – at associates'
desktops or in conference rooms and other facilities
– such as training course material, CAD/CAM files,
video and rapid image transfer, and presentations. Plus,
the LA 41X3 eliminates the expense and time of wiring
when your IT requirements call for temporary, seasonal,
capacity-driven, and kiosk networking. Changing your

communicate with the Spectrum24 AP 41X1 Ethernet Access
Point. The AP 41X1
serves as the connectivity point to your wired network or
the hub of a standalone wireless network. Wherever
critical computing devices are located, the Spectrum24 LA
41X3 PCI Card and AP 41X1 Access Point provide fast
access to vital information.
Wi-Fi™ Interoperable
Symbol's AP 41X1 bears the
Wi-Fi logo, a mark granted as the official "seal of
interoperability" by the Wireless Ethernet
Compatibility Alliance (WECA). Only select wireless
networking products possess this characteristic of IEEE
802.11b. This standard provides system architecture
flexibility and investment protection for 802.11b
interoperable installations.

Installation
The LA 41X3 PCI Card is
fast and easy to install, and includes all popular
industry-standard ODI and NDIS drivers as well as full
documentation for fast integration. Its semi-slot form
factor easily fits cash registers and other PC-compatible
devices having limited space. The "plug and play" feature
automatically configures the LA 41X3; once implemented,
it quickly and accurately connects to the Symbol
Spectrum24 Wireless LAN.
Easy Administration and
Network Management
LA 41X3 PCI Card-equipped
devices are administered using a number of quick
installation, maintenance, and upgrade management tools.
In addition, you can manage your entire WLAN installation
using Symbol's
SpectrumSoft™ suite
of tools, including software for monitoring and
controlling network activity and performance.
SpectrumSoft offers Web-based tools for fast application
development, and supports three-tier client/server
architecture for Internet- and intranet-based thin-client
connection to your servers and host systems.
