Superior Optical Design and Advanced Electronics for Consistent Scanning Performance
The LM500 Plus scan module leverages proven technology. Consistent, reliable performance is achieved with a retroreflective optical design which uses a frictionless eletromagnetic dithering mirror to direct laser light to its target. The scan mirror and magnet assembly is attached to the engine chassis by a flexure of beryllium copper (a hardened metal alloy), which is superior to plastic flexure elements. Beryllium copper's highly resonant properties require less current to create the dithering action of the mirror, so less power is required from the host device. And with RapidStart™ circuitry, the LM500 Plus scan module has the fastest start-of-scan in the industry.
Performance is further improved by reducing the negative effects of ambient light. This is accomplished by positioning the photoreceptor far inside the engine housing, thereby minimizing the effect of ambient light. An impressive read range, from 2.0" to 40.0" (5.1 to 101.6cm), and large pitch and skew angles makes this scan module suitable for many tightly specified bar code reading applications, like portable data terminals, medical and diagnostic equipment, gaming devices, vending machines and more!

Attachment to any OEM device is simple, since the LM500 Plus module's design includes three mounting holes to accommodate virtually any enclosure. And integration into existing systems is made easy, since the LM500 Plus scan module comes with either an industry standard undecoded interface or an RS232 TTL interface.
